Job Opening – Operations and Maintenance Plant Operator

Duckett Creek Sewer District is now accepting applications for the position of Plant Operator. This position is responsible for the daily operations of the wastewater treatment plant(s) including collecting wastewater samples, conducting daily testing and laboratory activities, performing equipment trouble shooting or diagnostics, cleaning and maintenance activities on plant equipment, grounds maintenance, and sludge application.

Knowledge, skills and abilities which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position include: working knowledge of the tools, materials, methods, equipment and practices of wastewater treatment including the operation of variable frequency drives, working knowledge of maintenance techniques for a wide variety of facility systems including membrane bioreactors (MBRs), ability to utilize a personal computer and the ability to input data into spreadsheet software.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and special vocational school or training certification either in electrical or mechanical skill, a Class C or Class D wastewater operator’s license, a Missouri Class A commercial driver’s license with tanker endorsement and a minimum of 1-2 years of treatment plant and maintenance operations experience.

SALARY RANGE: $41,376 TO $61,461 DOQ 

STIPEND: Additional $3,000 annual stipend for attainment of Operator’s license.
